At a glance
- This policy is part of your contract. It sits under our Terms of Service and applies to every Service: Cypher V, M, N, S, P and C.
- Tell callers the truth. Disclose AI and recording where the law requires it, and never deny being an AI when a caller sincerely asks.
- No unlawful calling. No robocalls without consent, no spoofed caller ID, no harassment, no calls to emergency numbers.
- Sensitive use cases need our sign-off. Healthcare, finance, debt collection and political campaigns require prior approval and extra safeguards.
- Our website and product may never be scraped, copied or used as a template — see Copying, scraping and imitation for the full rule.
- We enforce this actively. Violations can mean content removal, suspended numbers, account termination, and referral to law enforcement.
Purpose and scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with the Cypher LM Services — Cypher V (voice agents), Cypher M (live call and meeting copilot), Cypher N (note taker), Cypher S (scheduling), Cypher P (payments) and Cypher C (contacts) — and with cypherlm.com itself. It forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
This AUP exists to protect the people your Voice Agents and copilots interact with, our other customers, the telecom networks we depend on, and Cypher LM itself. It applies to you, every Team Member on your account, and anyone else who accesses the Services through your account, however they got access.
Key point: you are responsible for your Team Members' compliance with this policy, not just your own.
This policy applies regardless of which product you are using it through — a rule against harassing calls applies equally whether the call was placed by a Cypher V Cypher V, triggered by a Cypher S booking reminder, or dialled manually by a Team Member logged into your account. It also applies to how you use cypherlm.com itself, independent of whether you have an active subscription — for example, the rules in Copying, scraping and imitation below apply to anyone who visits our site, not only to paying customers.
If any part of this AUP conflicts with a specific term in your signed order form, the order form controls only for that specific point; every other part of this AUP still applies in full.
Nothing in this AUP limits any right or remedy available to us elsewhere in our Terms of Service, including suspension for non-payment, termination for breach, and the remedies set out in the Intellectual property and brand protection section. Where this AUP is silent on a point the Terms of Service address, the Terms of Service govern.
Transparency and consent
You must:
- tell Callers, wherever applicable law requires it, that they may be speaking with an automated or AI voice agent, and never configure a Cypher V to deny being an AI when a Caller sincerely asks whether they are talking to a person;
- disclose to Callers that a call may be recorded, and obtain any consent that applicable law requires before recording — including one-party or all-party consent as your jurisdiction demands;
- place outbound calls only to people for whom you have the consent or lawful basis required by law; and
- honour opt-out and do-not-call requests promptly and keep them honoured — a Caller who asks to stop being called must not be called again for that purpose.
Consent and disclosure obligations vary by jurisdiction and by call purpose (marketing calls generally require more than transactional calls, for example). You are responsible for knowing which rules apply to each Caller and each Campaign, and for configuring your Voice Agents accordingly. If you are not sure what disclosure your jurisdiction requires, err on the side of disclosing more, not less.
Prohibited calling practices
Strictly prohibited: using the Services for robocalls or bulk calling without the consent the law requires, caller-ID spoofing, harassment, or any call to an emergency number.
You must not use the Services to:
- make unsolicited robocalls, bulk spam calls, or mass marketing calls without the consent applicable telemarketing, anti-spam or telecom law requires, including the US TCPA, EU and UK rules, and the telecom regulations of every country you call;
- spoof, falsify or manipulate caller ID, or otherwise disguise the identity of the caller or calling business;
- call 911, 112, 15 or any other emergency-services number, or tie up a phone line in a way that could disrupt emergency or other critical services;
- place calls at a frequency, volume or time of day that is harassing, abusive or unlawful;
- call a number on a do-not-call register without a lawful exemption; or
- impersonate a real person, a government body, a bank, or any other organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
These rules apply to every calling mode the Services support: inbound answering, outbound one-off calls, and multi-call Campaigns alike. A Campaign that would be unlawful if dialled by hand is equally unlawful when dialled by a Cypher V — automation is never a defence.
Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the Services to create, send, store or facilitate content or activity that:
- is fraudulent or deceptive, including phishing, scams, fake debt collection, or collecting passwords, one-time passcodes or payment credentials outside a payment flow we provide for that purpose;
- harasses, threatens, bullies, stalks or discriminates against anyone, or promotes violence, hatred or self-harm;
- is sexually explicit, or involves minors in any harmful way;
- promotes illegal goods or services, or infringes a third party's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
- spreads election or political disinformation, or is designed to manipulate people through deception; or
- clones or imitates a real person's voice (including a public figure) without that person's explicit, informed, written consent, which you must be able to produce on request.
We may remove or disable content that violates this section wherever we find it — in a Knowledge Base, a Campaign script, a custom voice, or a live call we become aware of — without waiting for a complaint, and without reducing any other remedy available to us under the Terms of Service.
High-risk uses requiring approval
Key point: get our written sign-off before you go live in a sensitive field — we may require extra disclosures, human review, or decline the use case.
Some use cases carry higher legal or safety risk and require our prior written approval before you deploy them, which you can request at contact@cypherlm.com. These include, without limitation:
- Healthcare — triage, appointment reminders involving health information, or any call that could be mistaken for medical advice;
- Finance — lending decisions, account servicing involving financial advice, or any call that could be mistaken for licensed financial guidance;
- Debt collection — any call seeking to collect a consumer debt, which carries its own disclosure and conduct rules in most jurisdictions;
- Political campaigns — campaign calling, canvassing, get-out-the-vote or fundraising calls on behalf of a candidate, party or cause.
Even with approval, you remain solely responsible for complying with the specific regulatory regime that governs your field, and for ensuring meaningful human oversight of any decision with legal or similarly significant effects on a person (such as a credit, employment, housing or medical decision).
5.1Why we require approval
These fields carry rules — around disclosure, licensing, recordkeeping and vulnerable-person protection — that go beyond general calling law, and getting them wrong can harm real people as well as expose you and us to regulatory risk. Requiring approval lets us confirm your use case has the disclosures, consent flow and human-review checkpoints it needs before it reaches a single Caller, and lets us decline a use case we are not comfortable supporting.
5.2Requesting approval
Email sales@cypherlm.com with a description of your intended use case, the Service involved, your target Callers, and the safeguards you plan to use. We aim to respond within five business days. Launching a use case in one of these fields without our written approval is itself a violation of this AUP, independent of whether the specific calls you place turn out to be lawful.
Copying, scraping and imitation
Strictly prohibited: downloading, scraping, copying, cloning, or using cypherlm.com or the Cypher LM product as inspiration, a template or a reference for your own website or product.
Every part of cypherlm.com and the Cypher LM product — code, design, layouts, UI, animations, illustrations, logos, product names, copy, videos, voices, prompts and documentation — is the exclusive property of Cypher LM (Private) Limited. As a condition of using the Services, you agree that you will not, and will not help or instruct anyone else to:
- scrape, crawl, mirror or systematically download any part of our website or product;
- use our website or product, or any part of it, as a design "inspiration," template or reference for a website, app, pitch deck or any other work you build, whether for yourself or a client;
- clone or closely imitate our UI, flows, animations, branding or naming conventions;
- reverse engineer, decompile or extract source code, prompts or models from the Services; or
- feed any screenshot, recording, code or text taken from cypherlm.com or the product into an AI model for training, fine-tuning or benchmarking.
This is the same rule set out in full, with the applicable remedies, in the Intellectual property and brand protection section of our Terms of Service — including termination, civil damages, injunctions, takedown notices, and criminal referral under applicable cybercrime, copyright and trademark laws. Read that section; it applies in full to this AUP.
This prohibition is deliberately broad. It does not matter whether you intend to launch a competing product, write an internal research note, or simply "get ideas" for your own site — using our work as a reference point for yours is not permitted, with or without attribution, and with or without payment to us. It also covers indirect routes: asking a third party, a contractor, or an AI tool to look at our site or product on your behalf and describe, recreate or summarise it for your use is treated the same as doing it yourself.
6.1What you may do
Ordinary, incidental browsing of our public marketing pages to evaluate us as a vendor, or linking to our site, is fine. What is not fine is systematically extracting, copying or repurposing what you find there.
Security and platform integrity
Strictly prohibited: probing, load-testing, or attempting to bypass usage limits, billing or security controls on the Services.
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services, another customer's account, or our underlying systems;
- probe, scan, penetration-test or load-test the Services without our prior written permission;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Services or the networks connected to them;
- bypass or attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, billing checks or security controls;
- share account credentials or API keys across unrelated organisations, or sell or sublicense access to the Services without an agreement with us; or
- use the Services to build, train or benchmark a product that competes with Cypher LM.
If you discover a security vulnerability in the Services, please report it responsibly to support@cypherlm.com before disclosing it publicly, and do not access, modify or exfiltrate data beyond what is strictly necessary to demonstrate the issue. We will acknowledge good-faith reports promptly and will not pursue action against a reporter who follows this process.
AI-specific rules
Because the Services use artificial intelligence, additional rules apply to how you configure and operate them:
- you must give your Voice Agents and copilots accurate information, and review their configuration, scripts and knowledge base before putting them into production;
- you must not configure an agent to deceive a Caller about material facts (price, identity, purpose of the call) beyond what ordinary sales conversation involves;
- you must not use the Services to generate content designed to evade another platform's AI-content disclosure rules; and
- you must not rely on AI Output as a substitute for required human review in any high-risk use case described above.
- you must not use the Services to automatically generate and send content at a volume or pattern designed to overwhelm, flood or disrupt a recipient's phone line, inbox or messaging channel; and
- you must not prompt-inject, jailbreak, or attempt to manipulate a Cypher V or copilot into ignoring its configured guardrails, disclosing other customers' data, or producing content that would itself violate this AUP.
If you notice a Cypher V behaving in a way that seems to violate these rules despite your configuration — for example, misunderstanding a disclosure instruction — report it to support@cypherlm.com so we can investigate and, where appropriate, improve the underlying model behaviour.
Reporting abuse
If you receive an unwanted, abusive or suspicious call that you believe came from a Cypher LM Cypher V, or you believe the Services are being misused in any way, please report it with as much detail as possible — the date, time, the number that called you, and what was said:
Abuse reports: support@cypherlm.com · Legal and IP concerns: contact@cypherlm.com
We reply to abuse reports within 24 hours on business days. If you are a Caller rather than a Cypher LM customer and you want a specific business to stop calling you through our Services, tell us which business and which number called you — we will pass your opt-out request to that customer and confirm it was recorded, and we may act directly if the pattern you describe suggests a policy violation.
If you are a customer and you believe another customer's Cypher V is impersonating your business, infringing your trademark, or otherwise harming you, report it the same way with supporting evidence, and we will investigate under this AUP and our Terms of Service.
Enforcement
Key point: we can act immediately, without notice, when needed to prevent harm.
We may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. Our response is generally proportionate to severity and follows an escalation ladder, though we may skip straight to a later step when the situation warrants it:
| Step | Typical response |
|---|---|
| 1. Warning | Notice of the issue and a deadline to fix it |
| 2. Content or feature removal | Disabling the specific script, Campaign, number or integration involved |
| 3. Suspension | Temporarily pausing the account or specific Cypher V pending a fix |
| 4. Termination | Ending the account under the Terms of Service |
| 5. Referral | Reporting unlawful activity to the appropriate regulator or law-enforcement authority |
Where practical we will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue before escalating. But we may act immediately and without prior notice, including jumping directly to suspension or termination, where necessary to prevent harm to a Caller, another customer, a telecom network, or Cypher LM — for example, an active robocall campaign or a live safety risk does not wait for a warning email.
Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to address new risks or regulatory changes. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes that reduce your rights will be notified by email or in-app at least 15 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Services after an update takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
