Cypher V Answers Every Customer Call in English and Urdu, and Switches Between Them Mid-Call
The Cypher LM voice agent now offers English-only, Urdu-only and bilingual modes, so businesses can serve customers in the language they actually speak
LAHORE, Pakistan – Many customers do not think in one language. A patient booking a clinic visit may start in Urdu, switch to English for a medicine name and switch back again for directions. Most voice systems force a choice at the start of the call, or lose the thread when the caller changes language. Cypher V, the voice agent at the heart of Cypher LM, now answers in English, Urdu or both, and in bilingual mode it follows the caller from one language to the other within the same conversation.
Businesses choose the language when they build the agent. English only is tuned for English-speaking callers. Urdu only uses multilingual speech recognition and a natural Urdu voice. English + Urdu lets the agent understand and respond in either language on the same call, which Cypher LM recommends for businesses whose customers are in Pakistan. The language can be changed later from the agent's settings without rebuilding the agent. Each mode uses speech recognition and a voice chosen for that language, so Urdu callers hear natural Urdu rather than English pronunciation of Urdu words, and the agent understands the mixed phrasing that is common in everyday speech.
Language support matters because Cypher V is built to resolve calls, not just to greet callers. It answers in under a second, with no hold music and no "press 1" menus, and it answers from the business's own knowledge: the website it read during setup, the files the business uploaded, and Google Docs, Sheets and Drive files imported into the agent's knowledge. When a caller asks for a price, an opening time or a policy, the answer comes from the business, in the caller's language. If the knowledge does not cover a question, the agent says so and offers to take the question for the team, rather than inventing an answer.
“A customer should never have to change the language they think in to get help,” said Muhammad Maaz, co-founder and CTO of Cypher LM. “Cypher V listens in the language the caller chooses, answers from the business's own information, and moves between English and Urdu as naturally as a good receptionist does. That is what makes callers stay on the line instead of hanging up.”
Each agent has its own name, greeting, tone and voice, chosen in the no-code wizard. The business also sets what the agent must always do, what it must never discuss, and what it should say when it does not know an answer, for example taking the caller's question and promising a follow-up from the team. Customers never see the agent's internal instructions; the business sees a plain-language summary of how its agent will behave and can adjust it at any time. Restrictions apply in both languages, so a rule such as never quoting a price that is not in the price list holds whether the caller asks in English or in Urdu.
Cypher V is available wherever customers reach the business: on a connected phone line, on the business's website through a two-line widget, and on a shareable agent page that works in any modern browser with no app to download. After every call the dashboard shows the transcript, the recording and a recap, so the team can see exactly what was said in either language. Recaps are written in clear language for the team, and the full transcript keeps the caller's own words, so nothing is lost in translation when a manager reviews a call.
When the other Cypher LM products are switched on, the same bilingual conversation can do more. With Cypher S the agent books appointments during the call; with Cypher P it can request a payment and put a secure link on the caller's screen; with Cypher N every call ends with a summary, action items and a follow-up draft for the team. Bookings, payment links and follow-ups all carry the details the caller gave, so a name spelled out in Urdu on the phone still reaches the calendar invite and the receipt correctly.
“We see businesses where half the calls start in Urdu and end in English,” said Muhammad Maaz, co-founder and CTO of Cypher LM. “Bilingual mode means the owner does not have to guess which language to choose. The agent simply follows the customer.”
English, Urdu and bilingual modes are available today on every Cypher V agent. Businesses can build an agent and hear it themselves during a seven-day free trial, requested at cypherlm.com/free-trial, or book a demo to hear a bilingual agent live.
