Connect Cypher LM to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools (MCP)

Updated Oct 8, 20263 min read

Quick answer

Once developer access is on for your account:

  1. Create an API key in Automations › Developers.
  2. In your AI tool, add a remote MCP server with the URL https://api.cypherlm.com/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Set the header Authorization: Bearer clm_....
  4. Ask the assistant about your calls or bookings.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools and data from other services. Cypher LM runs an MCP server, so an assistant such as Claude can look up your agents, recent calls, bookings and follow-ups, read a customer's history, and start an outbound task call, all from a chat.

Developer access, which includes API keys and the MCP server, is in beta and not yet open to every account. If you want it, email sales@cypherlm.com or support@cypherlm.com and we will let you know when it is on for you.

What your AI assistant can do

Tool

What it does

list_agents

Lists your agents and their status.

list_recent_calls

Lists recent calls with your agents.

get_call

Reads one call's details and summary.

create_task_call

Asks an agent to call someone about something specific.

get_task

Checks the result of a task call.

list_bookings

Lists bookings.

get_customer_history

Reads everything about one customer.

list_follow_ups

Lists open follow-ups.

Example requests: "Which callers yesterday asked about pricing?", "What did Emily Carter want on her last call?", or "Ask my receptionist agent to call Daniel Brooks and confirm his Thursday appointment."

Create an API key

  1. In the dashboard, go to Automations › Developers.
  2. Under API keys, select Create key and give it a name you will recognise, such as "Claude desktop".
  3. Copy the key. It starts with clm_ and is shown only once ("Copy it now — for your security it won't be shown again.").

While developer access is in beta for your account, the Create key button stays disabled and the tab shows a Coming soon notice.

Connect Claude

  1. In Claude, open the settings for connectors or MCP servers and add a remote server.
  2. Enter the server URL https://api.cypherlm.com/api/v1/mcp. The server uses the Streamable HTTP transport.
  3. Add an authorization header: Authorization: Bearer clm_your_key.
  4. Save, then start a new chat and ask about your calls.

Connect ChatGPT or another AI tool

Any assistant or developer tool that supports remote MCP servers with a bearer token can use the same URL and key. The steps differ by product, so follow that tool's guide for adding a remote MCP server. If a tool only supports MCP servers without authentication, it cannot connect to Cypher LM.

Troubleshooting

  • The assistant says it cannot connect. Check the URL ends in /v1/mcp and that the header reads Bearer followed by a space and the full key.
  • Unauthorized errors. The key was revoked or mistyped. Create a new key and update the tool.
  • "Product not in plan" errors. Your plan does not include API access. See Plans, free trial and billing.
  • Empty results. The assistant only sees data your account has; a new account with no calls returns nothing yet.

Limits and plans

  • Requests are limited to 120 per minute per key. Above that the server answers with a "rate limited" error and a wait time.
  • API and MCP access is part of Premium, the free trial and Enterprise. Basic does not include it.
  • An assistant can only do what the tools above allow. It cannot change your agents' settings or see your payment keys.
